Rise Bakery, a social enterprise, is part of East London's homelessness charity Providence Row. A supported bakery training scheme for a luxury brownie gift-box business, packed with delicious brownies in five different flavours – such as double chocolate, mocha, or raspberry and white chocolate – our letterbox-friendly boxes are delivered across the country to corporates, retail customers, cafes and markets. Rise Bakery’s revenue funds our ten-week bakery trainee scheme for vulnerable adults affected by homelessness in a safe, encouraging environment. The scheme builds skills and confidence, leading to further training or employment by the charity. Continued...
2016: won a Great Taste Award from the Guild of Fine Foods, which confirms confidence in our products and helps us sell to high value customers. 25 people took part in Rise Bakery’s training scheme, 100% felt that participating improved their wellbeing and increased meaningful use of time. A third of respondents who had previous drug and alcohol issues felt they decreased their substance misuse by filling their time with more meaningful activities via our training.
