By shining a light on our members’ achievements we aim to inspire behaviour change across the community, in other businesses and the general public. Our network builds connections between businesses so they can thrive together, helping to build a more sustainable economy.’
The Blue Patch Mission
Why small businesses?
Small businesses make up 95% of the UK economy and generate around 40% of business GHG emissions. Yet they often lack the resources – including time, money and know-how – required to focus on reducing their environmental impact and improving their sustainability.
Blue Patch, with the support of its Patrons, is stepping in to help.
Why become a Patron?
Blue Patch Patrons believe the transition to a low-carbon economy can lead us to a better future. Business patrons are committed to reducing the environmental impact of their operations.
Patrons help SMEs to reduce their environmental impact by supporting:
- Blue Patch Learning onboarding businesses to the cause of climate change and tools and methodologies of carbon reduction.
- Our monthly online workshops for members led by chartered environmentalists and other sector experts.
- The annual Blue Patch Awards.
- Educational features in our Positive Shopping publication which highlights our sustainably-minded business community and ideas for low-carbon living.
