We are delighted to announce that we will be exhibiting thirteen of our most exceptional sustainable brands at London Design Fair this year. The event will take place from the 19th to the 22nd of September 2019 at the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch London as part of the iconic London Design Festival. Click to Register to visit.
Visitors will have a chance to meet some of the designers and makers, and get a glimpse of the talent spread across the British Isles through the beautiful products showcased. Blue Patch will take you on a journey through the home, from items such as flooring and paint to lighting and fittings that establish the very soul of a space, then moving on into objects such as throws, furniture and ceramics that reflect the changing seasons and moods.
Here is what visitors can expect to experience at our stand.
Aline Johnson will be showing their Rouge-Noir range of Vessels & Lamps. Aline Johnson designs and produces kiln formed glass from their London studio, mostly for lighting projects to commission. Inspiration is drawn from visits to rural Dorset, with its vibrant palette of beach paraphernalia, seaside rock and windbreak patterns which translate with ease into fused glass. This glass, unlike blown glass, goes in the kiln cold and comes out cold.
Atkinson & Kirby will let you step onto their engineered herringbone flooring in light and dark patterns. Since their establishment in 1903, they have become experts in hardwood flooring. Even today, they still retain that original close-knit family environment feel. Tradition is an integral part of Atkinson & Kirby and they are proud to remain one of the few British manufacturers of hardwood flooring, with a selection of their solid flooring being produced in the Chirk mill. New products will be launched on Sept 19.
Camilla Thomas Textiles will showcase their Merino Lambswool throws and co-ordinating, feather filled cushions. Inspired by the island of Anglesey in North Wales, all of their beautiful throws, fabrics and cushions are designed in Wales and manufactured at a family run mill in Lancashire. Camilla Thomas highlights the use of natural fibres, particularly Merino Lambswool, to give luxurious softness, warmth and lightness of weight, creating pieces that can be used daily and treasured in the future.
Denby Pottery has generations of hard-won experience using local iron-rich clay and unique glaze recipes to create beautiful, durable tableware. Still using many traditional hand-crafting techniques and time-honoured skills, each piece passes through at least 20 pairs of hands before it gets the Denby stamp of approval. The Denby approach has always been about creating beautiful and practical tableware that’s designed for modern life: ranges that do the job from Tuesday tea to Friday night to Sunday lunch. Tough enough for everyday use and stunning enough for special occasions.

Full Grown’s newest and best prototype, The Gatti Chair, grown for 6 years out of willow will be on display at the stand. Full Grown specialises in growing, grafting, nurturing then harvesting living trees into Chairs, Tables, Lights, Sculpture and much more. Using ancient techniques combined with modern technology, Full Grown is at the cutting edge of an emerging art form, an art form that highlights an interesting way to be closer to art and nature and to create symbiotic abundance for both.
Hatton Willow are based in the South Wales Valleys town of Caerphilly, famous for its Castle and cheese! Using the heritage craft of willow weaving, harvested yearly from their withy bed. This amazingly flexible and sustainable material provides a source for cuttings, bundles as well as living willow.
Melin Tregwynt will display their double cloth weaves in wool and Lambswool blankets, bedspreads, throws and cushions plus an upholstered chair in their new all Welsh Cambrian Mountains wool fabric. Melin Tregwynt has been a working mill in the hands of the same family for the past one hundred years, keeping the traditions of Welsh weaving alive. They specialise in Doublecloth, with most fabrics having strong graphic designs with a retro, mid-century modern quality.
Namon Gaston will be exhibiting the Cùram dining chair in Scottish ash. Specialising in furniture with timeless appeal, Namon Gaston’s design-led creations reflect the brand’s practicality as well as their aesthetic ideals. Traditional techniques are used alongside modern production processes to create beautiful, functional pieces which can become heirlooms. 20 years of experience in furniture design have culminated in their latest collection which keeps functionality, comfort and selection of the finest materials at its core.
Peter Lanyon will light up the stand with their impressive 5 stem Clump lamp in sweet chestnut with ash shades. Peter Lanyon is a champion of the use of coppiced wood, combining the unseasoned wood with other materials. All of their wood is from the south Devon coast, with slow techniques being used to create their products. They are an award-winning member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
RAW Studio’s Circa Hanging chair will be on display. This London-based design studio creates a range of products and works with brands to advise them on design direction. Huge believers in keeping things local, they make everything in their own workshop, have local UK suppliers and try their best to minimise any environmental impact in the manufacture of a quality, long lasting product.
The Poured Project will be showcasing their Peach Round Basin. Founded by Andy Pedley, a British furniture maker with years of training in restoration and bespoke design, this family-run, Yorkshire-based studio creates exceptional concrete pieces for residential and commercial interiors. Using the highest quality components sourced from local suppliers, their skilled makers turn this versatile and durable material to a wide range of products from striking wall cladding to sculptural basins.
Wade Ceramics will have on display their quirky Gluggle Jug. Since first being made in the 1870s, the jug has captivated users with its happy ‘gluggling’ sound which emanates from the fish’s mouth when liquid is poured at three quarters full. Founded in 1810 to produce ceramic items for industry, Stoke-on-Trent based Wade Ceramics has evolved over the years to become a leading heritage brand and one of Britain’s most cherished manufacturers.
