Come and explore Blue Patch our ethical directory for UK hand made products and services at the Lambeth Country Show this weekend, Brockwell Park, south London. Head for the back of tent P4 (near the picnic area) where Blue Patch teamsters, Emma, Rachael, Julia, Sujesh, Alberto and Jane will be giving you a taste of what our wonderful Blue Patch members are producing and explaining how Blue Patch works. You’ll be able to buy sustainable, handmade, and locally produced wares from our stand, including the fabulous Avisa’s Skin Food. Avisa herself will be stopping by on Saturday to tell everyone about the goodness of her organic, ethical and palm oil free soap. Treat yourself to a lovely bar this weekend.
Pick up an Ohyo and keep cool
Ladies may also like to pick up an Ohyo, we have 500 ‘simply squeezable’ Ohyo drinking bottles (I’ve had mine for 3 years and never go anywhere without it). Guy, Ohyo’s creator, is famous not only for saving water, reducing plastic waste and manufacturing his Ohyos in the UK, but for braving Dragons Den. To encourage all the start up Lambeth businesses in the Forest Enterprise Network tent here is Guy in action – and the Dragons were wrong, Ohyos are even selling in M&S. You can back Guy’s business expansion too, he wants to launch ‘mansized’ Ohyos. Guy will be popping over to the Blue Patch stand on Sunday afternoon, hopefully in 70’s style catsuit and platforms.
Natty Peeps famous Blue patch frisbee
Natty Peeps has been saving up pieces of bright blue cloth for ages and she gave us a fantastic surprise this week- the one and only Blue Patch frisbee! Natty’s Blue Patch frisbee will be on display amongst her funky crocheted frisbees, hand-knitted tea-cosies, hair clips and so much more. Natty Peep’s frisbees fly through the air like the wind. Natty Peeps has regular stalls at Herne Hill Farmers Market and Greenwich Market and is often to be spotted knitting as she saunters along the street. We have one of her rugs at home I can tell you they are soft and thick so you get a free foot massage.
These cakes won’t add calories but they’ll brighten up your windows come rain or shine. Local glass designer and maker Sue King will be exhibiting a range of her colourful works including delicate glass leaves, stained glass ice creams, fruit and cakes. Sue’s a busy person with her work now in great demand. She’s recently completed a commission for the Houses of Parliament MP’s shop and is currently working on a commission for Frimley Park Hospital Maternity wing.

You can stock up on Julia Langley’s flowery cards, swap email for a pen and send someone you love a handwritten note. Painter Julia Langley works in her garden studio, surrounded by plant subjects. You can buy original oil paintings such as the work featured here, prints and cards. Julia will be at the Blue Patch stand for a short time to tell people more about her work. She exhibits her work at the Dulwich Open House along with ceramicists Lydia Brenchley and Anna Silverton.

Finally to make the best of your post Lambeth Country Show relaxation time, you can make a hearty Sourdough, give birth or grow your own veg with a free pack of seeds with the help of a UK published and printed Do Book and after that enjoy a De-Stressing Massage Bar made by Kats Kalma.
