Elite Renewables acquired the Tait Road premises back in 2022. It was originally built in 1981 but we stripped and retrofitted the unit to make it the ideal working environment for our people. The decision to establish the office was two-fold: We needed an office to show clients the benefits of our renewable technologies. We wanted to show clients how nearly any aging structure – including this 43-year-old warehouse unit – could be transformed into a zero-carbon environment.
How DID WE DO IT? Insulating the walls, floors, ceilings and roof. Enhancing airtightness through two coats of plaster. Reinforcing the roof-lights with secondary glazing. Adding a Ground Source Heat Pump system for complete heating, cooling and hot water capabilities. Installing underfloor heating on both floors. Introducing automatic fan coil units to cool the premises through GSHP byproducts. Adding 66 solar panels. Installing three battery storage systems (reducing grid dependence by over 95%!. Incorporating a Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery unit to: Supply fresh, filtered air (preheated or pre-cooled via the heat recovery technology) Extract stale air. It resulted in a near-perfect working environment. And a sustainable one. It’s something you can replicate for your own work environment with Elite Renewables.
