House plants
Harriet Thompson founded Harriet’s Plants. She studied plant science at the world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall. During her second year she set up a successful pop-up shop selling houseplants and botanical wares in different locations across Cornwall.
Eventually Harriet returned to her home town of Lichfield, Staffordshire where she's carrying out her mission is to grow peat free houseplants for customers across the country. She also provides a local gardening service.
Harriet places great emphasis on propagating and growing within the business, reducing carbon emissions and plastic pollution that comes from overseas importing. Harriet’s Plants plan to become 100% self-sustaining with 100% of her stock grown solely from her nursery. Her plants are delivered in 100% biodegradable, reusable and compostable packaging.
Harriet likes collaborating with other small businesses and artists. She plans to grow her business, making houseplants grown locally, available across the UK.
