Liz Emtage makes and designs porcelain sculptural lighting and tiles. More than 30 years experience has gone into the making of Liz’s unique pieces- a passion for art and design that has developed over a lifetime. Liz is inspired by the beauty of nature, especially the sea. She sources a variety of textures and impresses them into the porcelain creating a delicate, almost fossil-like, impression on the clay surface. When lit these lamps emit an ethereal glow, enhancing the surface texture with light and shadow. When off, the lamps become sculptural pieces, rich with subtle surface pattern.

Liz has been interested in ceramics since she was 5 years old. She did a Foundation course in London at Middlesex University. She then went on to do a degree in Ceramics at Bath College of Higher Education. In 1996 she set up her first studio in central London at Cockpit Arts. Since then she has been making and selling her ceramic work as well as teaching and lecturing.
