1TcA is a range of fully recyclable and sustainable UK mask brand, enhanced with leading textile technology HeiQ Viroblock to help reduce cross contamination from hand to face covering. Founded by social entrepreneurs at the start of the nation’s lockdown. All products are British Designed and manufactured. All net profits are donated to charitable causes. The current range of masks and snoods are made from GRS (Global Recycled Standard), ethically sourced plastic. We are due to launch a second range made from ethically sourced cotton spun in the UK.
1TcA is the brainchild of socially aware mother, Raj. On the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Raj felt a moral obligation to help feed the thousands of vulnerable residents who were struggling to cope. Within 100 days she was joined by two more socially aware mums, Goodie & Laura and between them, they fed thousands of families and set about to provide families with affordable, sustainable protective masks and snoods. In Raj's own words, 'I woke up and had one thought that I needed to plant, feed and protect. That day I went to the garden centre and brought all their local fresh produce and seeds to plant, and fed 20 local families. We gave access to 1000s of meals and became the foodbank to the foodbanks and crisis centres across the UK. Expanding our contacts, we were able to start food sharing across Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Ecuador and Kenya. We were asked by our local councillor to help with organising PPE.It was proposed that we manufacture PPE in the UK. While continuing to feed the community and helping with PPE we notice the impact the disposable Masks are having on the environment. We took the 1TCA Mask to market and attracted our first multi-unit order and started to establish a client wait listing.'
The principal form of transformation of COVID-19 is the inhalation of infected airborne droplets exhaled by an infectious person whilst coughing or sneezing. The virus can also be transmitted via surfaces (including fabrics) that have been in direct contact with an infectious person. When ever you pickup, put on, adjust or remove a non-treated mask, you are at risk of transferring bacteria/viruses (such as COVID-19) from the surface of the mask to your hands. You then further risk transmitting it from your hands to your face. HeiQ is a Swiss textile Technology company that has developed a highly effective fabric treatment called HeiQ Viroblock, which is added to our 1TCA face mask and snoods during manufacturing. How does HeiQ Viroblock Work? “This is achieved via a combination of HeiQ’s silver & vesicle technology: the silver technology attracts the oppositely charged viruses and binds permanently to their sulfur groups. Subsequently, the fatty spherical vesicle technology (Liposomes) helps to deplete the viral membrane of its cholesterol content in minutes, therefore the silver can destroy the virus rapidly.”
OUR COMMUNITY WORK 1TcA are all about making a difference in our world. All 1TcA profits are donated to charities across the UK
