IQ & EQ = Success
I was privileged to have a career at one of the world's top business schools, but despite having the opportunity to work alongside brilliant minds and visionary entrepreneurs, I recognized that there was a missing and complementary component that could help them to achieve optimum success! Which was emotional intelligence and soft skills and something I have in abundance. So I was able to bridge the gaps and support leaders with anything people related, such as self-awareness, different communication styles, team management and development. I am passionate about learning and development so qualified as a coach 18 years ago and have acquired best practice experience coaching and developing individuals and teams to be their best selves personally and professionally.
Here are some of my achievements :-
International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) as issued by ICF Credentials and Standards.
OCN Accredited Coach with Distinction.
Coach Foundation has recognised Sharon Wilson’s expertise as a Personal Coach by selecting her as a top coach.
Founder of Complimentary Kindness initiative.
Make a Difference Award from the London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
Distinguished Staff Contribution Award.
Co-Founder & Co-Chair of Black Employees Network (BEN) at London Business School.
I have a holistic approach to my work supporting both personal and professional development collectively as nowadays both of these tend to merge and can have an impact on each other. My coaching focuses on the person rather than the problem.
I support my clients to maintain a healthy work/life balance and I try to do the same. With the power of technology I can now coach individuals and teams located anywhere in the world from the comfort of my living room and at the press of a button.
I also do in person 1-1 coaching and deliver in person workshops.
As kindness and giving is an important element of being your 'best-self' a few years ago I created an initiative called Complimentary Kindness (www.complimentarykindness.com) which is a public platform for communities to connect, say thank you's, give and receive compliments and express kind words of gratitude. In workplace environments it is used as a well being activity to provide positive feedback and foster kindness in leadership.
Research suggests that acts of giving and kindness, small and large, are associated with positive mental well-being. Giving to others and co-operating with them can stimulate the reward areas in the brain, creating positive feelings.
The activities can be held in person and compliments can be sent via email. Which was ideal during the pandemic when people were separated from their friends, family and loved ones.
I would like to scale my business and have a wider impact to support and develop more people because as the saying goes people don't leave jobs they leave managers so there is some work to do there to improve management and leadership styles.
I would also like to eventually turn Complimentary Kindness into a Charity and have events to support different members of the community. i.e. Life Skills for children at schools, building confidence and soft skills, etc. incorporating sustainability and raising awareness.
