After struggling to find stylish and practical workwear, we made our own. That is how we started. When other makers started asking where we had bought our workwear, we made a few for them too, and a few more and a few more.
The Stitch Society grew from our passion for comfortable and durable workwear, a desire to make all our range in the UK from UK manufactured fabrics and a need to create sustainable, durable workwear with minimal impact.
Our mission has always been to make the most comfortable, durable and stylish aprons and workwear for makers, artists and crafters and our commitment to this remains as strong today as it ever was.
Simple because form follows function, comfort is our priority which is why we only design cross back aprons as their comfort is legendary, especially for those working in the disciplines of ceramics and jewellery.
Stylish because if you look good, you feel good.
Durable because we are committed to extending the life of our products. We offer a ten year repair guarantee so if one of our products looks a little tired or needs a little TLC, send it back to us and we will make sure it comes back looking refreshed and ready for action.
By investing in our range, you are investing in yourself, your work and your business.
Part of our ethos is mending, repairing and repurposing which is an integral part of our philosophy. We choose our fabrics with care, working closely with UK manufacturers to ensure our products will last.
We repair as this is the key to sustainability. The mantra "Buy Once, Buy Well" could have designed for our products as we aim to ensure that you have the perfect piece of workwear to suit your needs and will work with you to make sure that the garment is just right.
We are investing in B-Corp this year and all our policies can be seen on our website. For any enquiries, please contact info@thestitchsociety.com.
Having expanded into a larger facility and expanded our production space, we have been awarded an Innovate UK grant to improve the circularity of our own products and those of the workwear industry including improved repair, reuse and recycling, working with local universities, businesses and our local council to reduce the 90% of workwear that goes to landfill.
We now also have the facility to produce textile products for other makers and are becoming known for working closely with customers working to produce responsibly manufactured runs of their quality products.
