TrustMark is a not-for-profit, social enterprise, operating under a Master Licence Agreement, issued by the Government’s Department for Business and Trade. This Agreement sets out what they do and how they do it. They have an independent Board, first appointed in 2018, who work alongside an independent Financial Protection Panel. This provides impartial oversight of their business and in-depth scrutiny over the levels of consumer protection provided by businesses. They license and work with their network of Scheme Providers – accreditation bodies and trade associations – who commit to meeting the operating requirements of their Quality Scheme. In turn, their Scheme Providers license and work with its TrustMark Registered Businesses to ensure they commit to and maintain the required standards of technical competence, trading practices and customer service. These practices help to provide assurance and confidence for homeowners when they engage a TrustMark Registered Business and for trades, it helps to demonstrate their quality and professionalism.
