Hope Springs Chairs

Hope Springs Chairs

Perfectly at home in both traditional and contemporary spaces, Jason's chairs are bold and sculptural interpretations of the traditional Windsor chair form. His work shows influences from the painted American chair through to 'Welsh' and West Country classics. Pieces are bold, elegant and are painstakingly finished. Working using time honoured tools and techniques, his chairs are very sustainably produced from local British hardwoods. Jason also teaches his traditional method of chairmaking to small groups in a woodland workshop in Sussex. These courses take place over six days, and cover the basic principles of polelathe turning, steambending, carving and framing.
