Grain, Colour + Form, Copper Dust, Full Grown and Laura’s Loom at the London Design Fair 2018.
Colour + Form create an explosion of vibrant colour with their designs specialising in colourful and painterly graphic patterns. ‘Our patterns are crafted by digitally layering, mixing and merging colours sampled from a variety of inspirations, including nature, art and fashion. All our patterns are created from our studio in Suffolk‘ says Sarah Parris and Howard Wakefield the designers behind the brand. Colour + Form’s designs have been used for editorial, advertising and applied across a range of products including cushions, fabrics, rugs and wallpapers. They can work on bespoke commissions, collaborations and licensing. They also produce their own collection of textiles and interiors products. Laura’s Loom is Artisan handweaver Laura Rosenzweig. She turns locally sourced wool into luxurious woven wool blankets & throws, inspired by the landscape of Cumbria where she lives and works in Sedbergh, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. ‘When I started my journey into the wool trade almost ten years ago, wool was an under-appreciated and under-utilised resource. In the years since, there has been a welcome resurgence of interest in all things wool. Here at Laura’s Loom we aim to bring you the highest quality products woven from this wonderful natural fibre. Our goal: to create beautiful items in simple classy designs that show off the wool at its very best. In the process we recognise and celebrate our partners – the farmers who raise the sheep and tend the landscape, and the spinners and weavers, dyers and cloth finishers who help us create our products. Copper Dust is Designer Vanessa Agyemang. she makes elegant African inspired lampshades and artwork by hand in her Greenwich studio for clients who like to inject colour and pattern into their home. Copper Dust is inspired by eclectic British and African fusion, giving a taste of the exotic, whilst remaining quintessentially British. On show at London Design Fair, the Tribe collection; single tier lampshades & canvas print art in Blue and Bronze. Vanessa is a Prince’s Trust award recipient and has had features in Agoo Magazine Ghana, The Daily Telegraph The National, Dubai & Home Deco Germany. Vanessa was part of Africa Utopia on 2017 /18 at the Southbank.
Full Grown are redefining luxury and collaboration with nature through their ‘chair orchards’ where they carefully grow refined art and furniture. Over the last 12 years Full Grown have been developing techniques that focus on employing the least change to the natural world to create both healthy soil and unique furniture artworks that could last for decades, centuries even. ‘Our proposition starts with pleasing and eminently touchable show pieces and ends with the philosophy of making the most subtle nurturing impact on both the planet we rely on for our existence and the people who produce the objects we use. How? Over several years we train individual tree branches and then graft all joints together allowing us to grow solid, beautiful and unique furniture. After harvest we carefully dry and then plane and polish the outer surfaces to reveal the beautiful natural wood inside. In essence it’s incredibly simple: in reality we are looking after half a million branches…’ Says Founder and chief chair grower Gavin.

Stand Design by Melanie Callender. Melanie holds a Bachelors in Interior Architecture from the University for the Creative Arts (U.C.A), with a diploma in Interior Design from the University of Kent. She has worked in the field of architecture, branding and design. Previously holding the position of Brand Experience Strategist with Lonsdale Saatchi & Saatchi for 3 years. In 2018 Melanie completed her MA in Advertising Branding and Communication from The University of West London. This has advanced and deepened her understanding of brand communication, graphic design, advertising strategy and creativity. Her final project highlighting how gender identity informs brand experience.
