New kitchen showroom opening in Cambridge

A new kitchen showroom will shortly be opening in Cambridge, part of the Kutchenhaus brand. The new owners will be Catherine Salmon of C S Sustainable Design and her partner, Rodger Lloyd. They are ideally placed to help you build the kitchen of your dreams.

Using a kitchen designer will maximise the functionality of the space. The designer will factor in practical aspects like workflow, lighting, storage, and access. They’ll combine interior design experience with budget considerations and manage project delivery. That’s why it is beneficial to use a kitchen consultant to build your dream kitchen.

The kitchen designers

Catherine has over two decades of kitchen design experience. She is a specialist in spatial planning, kitchens and architectural furniture. Catherine brings with her a focus on sustainability and eco-friendly living. She aims to introduce as many sustainable products to the showroom range as possible.

“Catherine worked with us to design a fabulous media unit and storage cupboard for our kitchen, a bootility with an amazing twist and clever, clever bedroom furniture to make a tricky are useful and stylish. She had great ideas, worked brilliantly with us, listening to what we wanted to achieve and tweaked designs to get the optimum out of the areas she had worked in. She was a joy to work with.”

Rodger made a transition after a successful career in the performing arts and has found a passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces that will fit client’s needs and desires. Over the last five years Rodger has worked for a number of market leading kitchen design firms in the UK.

For both Rodger and Catherine, sustainability and interior wellbeing are the foundations of their design philosophy.

The Kutchenhaus brand is a well-established supplier of traditional and contemporary kitchens ‘where German engineering meets exquisite design’. They have over 20 showrooms across the UK. The brand has a reputation for designing and supplying the best quality kitchens, making it the perfect choice.

Cambridge kitchen showroom

The kitchen showroom will be on Regents Street in Cambridge and the central position will be easily accessible for local residents. Cambridge is known for its stance on sustainability and the city council is known for setting ambitious targets for reducing direct carbon emissions.

The kitchen designing process

The kitchen designing process is split into five phases. These include information gathering, the initial consultation, the production of an initial concept design, the installation by skilled installers, and project management of the entire build.

The build and layout of the new showroom has been overseen by Catherine and Rodger. They’ve chosen energy suppliers consciously and opted for natural non-toxic paints from Edward Bulmer paints for the walls and lighting from Spark & Bell lighting to demonstrate in the showroom.

Showroom opening

The showroom will be opening on 4 November 2024. The historic Victorian building runs over multiple floors and spans over 2,000 square feet. The kitchen showroom is on the ground floor and the first floor is a stunning family living and entertainment room with kitchen diner and utility. The upper floor is currently an open plan event space. These inspirational spaces will be a pleasure to visit for consultations or regular events.
