Cool it World’s film competition off to a flying start
Blue Patch’s company Cool it World Ltd has got the ball rolling with our very first film competition for young people run through our other website Cool it Schools (now archived – please visit theUK Web archive) . The theme for 2013 was water and pictured above are the young winners of the 12-16 age group clutching their ‘soft Oscar’. It was magnificent seeing all the kids films on the lovely NFT 3 cinema screen. Next year the theme will be food, growing and eating it!
Our Hot Water BFI Film Awards
To make things doubly exciting I have been given an award along with the kids. Not one to blow my own trumpet however being a new London Leader for Sustainability should benefit Blue Patch members too. The common aim to promote all the good things we have on Blue Patch and get the sustainability message out to a wider public will next year have a host of young ambassadors spreading knowledge about growing seasonal food and cooking it – what do sprouts look like through the eyes of the nation’s young?
Added to this we’ll get to know loads of fascinating people as this award is all about building networks. The other ‘LLs’ will hopefully be sharing their stories on Blue Patch – and there is so much to discover from motion sensors that turns off lights to using coffee to drive your car.
