A values-based community
Over the past 18 months we’ve been working with our Advisory Board and pro-bono legal teams to revise Blue Patch’s mission, ethical values, governance and constitution. The constitution will be published on the website in due course.
This period of reflection and scrutiny will bring a transparent and formally ‘entrenched’ governance structure, protecting Blue Patch’s legacy.
Blue Patch will be guided by a new Advisory Council and Steward Panel (pending). Changes to the constitution can only be instituted by these two advisory groups. Business members will be invited to participate at our AGM (from 2026).

Sustainability Progress Check-in
We want everyone to get the most out of Blue Patch so we’ve introduced a new Sustainability Progress Check-in on the Members’ Hub.
The check-in:
- Enables you to submit your stories and win free promotion
- Gives automatic entry to the Blue Patch Awards
- Hyperlinks to the Green Claims Code
- Tells us what courses and actions you have done – forming Blue Patch’s impact report
- Provides space to share ideas and feedback.
Blue Patch Learning
Whether you are already working on your environmental and social responsibility, or need help to begin doing so, we welcome you on board
Blue Patch Learning
The Carbon Reduction course
Our illustrated short course ‘CO2 Reduction’ clarifies the causes of climate change, what we need to do and by when, terms and methodologies and basic carbon auditing. The course takes an hour or so. Do the Recap quiz to get a CO2 Reduction badge!
In 2026 we’ll be introducing our Biodiversity in the workplace course. Blue Patch Learning is supported by Blue Patch Patrons.
New online workshops and talks
Alice Doyle our Environmental Consultant, will be running Meet the Expert workshops – look out for Jack Buckle from Blue Patch’s Voluntary Board on Cyber Security and Recorra, a story of waste. The Q&As will be combined with interactive training and networking to build partnerships and share knowledge. The online workshops are kindly supported by our patron Naturesave.
Carbon Accounting
Blue Patch is a member of the task Force Bankers 4 Net Zero where we’re helping to test a new UK SME Voluntary Emissions Standard, a much needed simplification for SMEs required to do carbon accounting.
We’ll be providing hands-on help for small groups, using the new UK SME Voluntary Emissions Standard as a framework. Partnering with industry leaders and innovators in the carbon accounting space, our mission is to find the best and most cost-effective options to support members on their net zero journey.
